How to Encrypt Folders
Learn how to encrypt a folder in seconds with CryptoForge, easy-to-use folder encryption software that allows you to encrypt folders on any kind of drive, including removable drives, USB drives, flash drives, memory sticks, and even network folders and drives. Folders encrypted by CryptoForge can also be uploaded to the cloud or copied to anywhere you wish and they will always remain encrypted. Furthermore, you will also be able to decrypt your folders on any computer without CryptoForge installed with the help of our free, portable Decrypter app.
First, to be able to encrypt a folder with the strongest encryption available today, you have to download our folder encryption software (if you haven't already done so), which you can try for free for 30 days to encrypt folders, and then it will work indefinitely for decryption, besides the free Decrypter app included:
To encrypt a folder, right-click the folder you wish to encrypt and choose "Encrypt" from the context menu. If you need to encrypt multiple folders, select all of them and click on the selection, then choose Encrypt folder. If the "Encrypt" option does not appear on the menu, then you have not installed folder encryption software yet. You first have to download and install the software above to be able to encrypt a folder.
Then enter the password to encrypt the folder. It is very important that you remember the encryption password; otherwise you would not be able to decrypt the folder.
You are done! Encrypted folders can be moved freely and uploaded to the cloud. Note that by default, the software will remember your folder encryption password for a minute, so you can encrypt additional folders without having to reenter the password every time. After this time-out period, you will need to enter the right password to be able to decrypt the folder. To decrypt the folder, right-click on it and choose "Decrypt" from the context menu.
